Fourteen years ago, I found myself at a crossroads. After being made redundant in the UK, I decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. What started as a way to fill the days quickly turned into a passion for exploration. I’ve now visited over 100 countries, hiked some of the most breathtaking trails in the world, and learned countless lessons along the way.

One of those lessons? The importance of traveling light.

The Problem with Too Much Weight

Early in my travels, I made the classic mistake of overpacking. I’ll never forget trekking through the sweltering heat of Southeast Asia, struggling with a backpack that felt like it was loaded with bricks. Or the time in the Alps when my overly heavy gear slowed me down, and I had to abandon part of my planned route because I couldn’t keep up. These moments taught me that every ounce matters.
